Welcome to Michigan Art Education Association!

ATTENTION ALL MAEA MEMBERS:

On November 23, 2008 a new postal requirement went into effect. Presorted First-Class and Standard Mail is required to comply with Move Update requirements. Organizations, such as NAEA/MAEA must demonstrate that they have their mailing lists updated. There are companies recommended to update these addresses, for a cost.  Mailers, like MAEA, not in compliance with the mail update, will be required to return the unearned, non-profit, discount on postage.

IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS CHANGES WITH YOUR MEMBERSHIP CHAIR AT: Jessica Strye jessicaStrye@gmail.com  jessicastrye@wowway.com.

This will help both MAEA and NAEA continue to serve you with publications that come with your membership.

Resolution passed by the membership of the Michigan Art Education Association

February 20, 2006

"The Michigan Art Education Association represents more than 1200 art teachers, their schools and students statewide. The organization acknowledges the importance of a rigorous and balanced curriculum that includes the arts. The Michigan Merit Core Curriculum is a step toward a balanced education through its inclusion of no less than one credit of visual and performing arts for High School Graduation. In addition, we encourage alignment with the Goals 2000: Educate America Act. This federal mandate recognizes the arts as a core subject, equal in importance to Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Health, Physical Education, and World Languages."
