WINTER EXHIBITIONS On display November 21, 2008, through February 7, 2009 Opening Reception: Friday, November 21, 2008, 6-8pm
The Waterworks Visual Arts Center’s 2008-09 winter exhibition season explores the theme, "Relationships: Environment and Self." Three exhibitions examine the unique ways of thinking about relationships with the world around us and our own beings through visualizing dreams, experiencing ideas of chaos and control, and thinking about the historical divisions of society and personal role models. In addition, the Center offers the Fifth Annual Artists' Invitational Exhibition and Sale, a group show of the art of thirteen artists and craftspeople just in time for the holiday season.
Four artists will be represented in three separate exhibitions, collectively entitled Relationships: Environment and Self, through February 7, 2009. Exhibiting artists include Tyrone Geter (Purgatory Ain't Nothin' but the Blues, Norvell Gallery), Natalie Bork and Maja Godlewska (Atmospheres: Formed and Formless, Woodson and Osborne Galleries), and Don Moore (The Quest: Dreams and Coincidental Discoveries, Stanback Gallery Hall).
Thirteen artists will be featured in the Fifth Annual Artists' Invitational and Sale in the Young People's Gallery. Presenting artists include Syed Ahmad, Bill Colvard, Molly Dingledine, Carol Dunkley, Ric Erkes, Sharon Hamilton, Patt Legg, Mary Linn Norvell, Jane Price, Donald Redmond, Cindy Riccardelli, Ken Sedberry, and Don Stevenson.
The public is invited to attend a free opening reception for the professional exhibitions on Friday, November 21 from 6 – 8 pm.
