Dopamine link to early psychosis

Scan showing the availability of dopamine in the brain of people at risk of schizophrenia (Howes et al 2009). A new study involving research from the Institute of Psychiatry shows, for the first time, that people who may be at risk of schizophrenia show increased levels of the brain chemical messenger dopamine. The paper is published online in the Archives of General Psychiatry.
