It's time to apply for financial aid for 2009-10. The application is free, and nearly everyone qualifies for some type of aid. Apply for financial aid first -- it's the best way to pay for college.
Apply beginning January 1 online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Some aid is limited, so be sure to apply before the priority deadline, March 1.

WMU is now participating in the U.S. Department of Education's TEACH (Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education) Grant program. The TEACH Grant program will provide up to $4,000 per academic year in grants to full-time students who are enrolled in TEACH-eligible programs. After graduation, students must teach full-time in high-need subject areas at schools that serve students from low-income families.
Students who fail to meet this and other TEACH Grant requirements will see their funds converted to an unsubsidized loan, with interest accrued from the first date of disbursement. We strongly encourage you to consider these funds as a loan. It is estimated that 80% of the students who receive a TEACH Grant will be unable to fulfill the requirements and will see their grant funds converted to a loan.
