Changes at Liquor Licensing, QOGR and Racing

On 1 July 2008 the Liquor Licensing Division, Queensland Office of Gaming Regulation and Office of Racing integrated to form the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing. The new organisation is located at 33 Charlotte Street Brisbane, in the building which has housed QOGR since 2004.

The full implementation of the integration will take place over time with the major work occurring around the alignment of the compliance and licensing functions of the gaming and liquor offices. Also, as part of the merger process, the separate websites will be integrated. Information about progress will be published on this page.

Stage two of the website integration process is now complete and all content from the former Queensland Office of Gaming Regulation, Gambling Community Benefit Fund and Responsible Gambling websites has now been combined within the new Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing website. Liquor Licensing and Racing content will be combined as part of a new project starting in the near future.

Queensland Survey of Operational Gaming Machine Venues

OLGR would like to thank all club managers and hoteliers who took time to complete the 2006-2007 Survey of Queensland Gaming Machine Venues late last year. The response rate to this survey was extremely good at 76%. This survey helps OLGR in developing gambling policy and responsible gambling initiatives. This information also enables the Government and industry representatives to better understand the views and needs of gaming licensees. We are grateful for your ongoing cooperation and support for these surveys.

The Results of the 2006-2007 Survey of Queensland Gaming Machine Venues are currently being compiled and should be released in late-2008. The 2005-2006 survey can be accessed from this link (PDF 3,460 K).

The 2007-2008 Survey of Queensland Gaming Machine Venues will be distributed mid-October 2008. OLGR encourages all clubs and hotels operating gaming machines to participate in this survey. The Policy, and Research Branch of OLGR (Ph. 07 3224 4564) will gladly assist with any enquiries about this survey.
