The original concept for Art & Design Online was formed in 1999. After six years of evolving, modifying and updating, the website finally launched on January 1st 2005.

The site's creator is artist and designer Larry Lubow.
Larry saw the need for ArtandDesignOnline.com after observing the increased control other websites were taking with their members and the fees they were charging. In every sense, these sites tried to maximize their control while limiting members? freedoms. They control everything from communications to content and commissions.

ArtandDesignOnline.com puts the control back in the hands of our members. Moreover, we eliminated the need for members to rely solely on costly programmers, by making it easy to upload their images and text on to their pages whenever they want.

ArtandDesignOnline.com offers many unique features that set us apart from other websites. For one, visitors are able to search by images and decide what they want to view by the quality of the content, not by how much was paid for the listing position.
