Blisters Dice Game was created during a 2000 mile walk from Georgia to Maine on the Appalachian Trail. The Appalachian Trail is a footpath along the Appalachian Mountains that now extents from Florida all the way to Canada.

In 1987, when Blisters was first conceived, the Appalachian Trail was 2145 miles long, starting atop Springer Mountain in Georgia winding its way to the northern terminus atop Mt. Katahdin in Maine. My hiking partner, Mark and I spent six months on the Trail, experiencing the best and the worst nature had to offer.

More than just a Walk in the Woods, the "AT" became a way of life! Blisters was born as we waited out foul weather, tossing those six dice to pass the long hours. The game was called Blisters simply because my feet were covered with them.   More detail...
