Founded in 1910 under the name of Spencer's Pictures Limited, Greater Union Organisation's core business has always been film exhibition. Today, we screen local and international movies in multi-auditorium complexes around Australia - independently and in joint ventures with companies such as Village Roadshow. Greater Union has a 100% interest in Birch Carroll & Coyle, Queensland's biggest cinema chain, and has substantial shareholdings in the Village Roadshow group of companies. We also have joint ventures with cinema groups in the Middle East and Europe.
