The Maine Amateur Wrestling Alliance (MAWA) is dedicated to the development and advancement of all forms of amateur wrestling. The MAWA is further dedicated to the recognition and preservation of past and present achievements. Finally, the MAWA is dedicated to attain recognition and foster support from all sectors of Maine for the betterment of amateur wrestling in our State.

Our most fulfilling activity is the awarding of scholarships to wrestlers who are continuing their academic pursuits beyond high school. The Alliance also sponsors clinics, a takedown tournament, and is responsible for forming the "Wrestling Hall of Fame". Each year at our annual banquet we induct wrestlers, officials, and other people who have helped the great sport of wrestling become what it is today in the State of Maine.   More detail...
