The American University of Health Sciences, formerly American Institute of Health Sciences, was originally founded in 1994 as a postsecondary training institution to educate and equip students for life careers in the field of health education and to produce quality healthcare professionals for the community and the country. The University exists to provide the following broad range of Associate and Certificate programs in health science.

If we are to effect, to improve, and to make better the lives of others, then we ourselves must be committed to creating and offering an academic environment where excellence, and diversity, and attention to the development of the entire person can be addressed. Where the intellectual, where the emotional and the spiritual relevance of the individual can be attended, so that ultimately the collective needs of the community
can be acted upon.

A place where barriers that exclude can be set aside,so that the healthiness of a city, a state, a nation, the world can be pursued inclusive of all the intellectual resources each of us has to offer.
