TAFE NSW - Western Sydney Institute provides access to vocational, education and training including pathways to university for people currently residing in Western Sydney. Western Sydney Institute delivers nationally accredited qualifications with a practical focus in identified skills shortage areas, such as Children Services, Manufacturing and Engineering, Building and Construction, Nursing, Management and Accounting.


Western Sydney Institute has campuses in 10 locations and a facility for distance education located at Strathfield. Open Training and Education Network (OTEN) is the specialist distance education and open learning provider for TAFE NSW. OTEN delivers courses using a range of media including printed learning materials, videos, CD ROMS and DVDs.

The Institute delivers National Training packages in all industry areas and at all skill levels – from factory floor to senior management. Programs can be customised to suit your business needs. We can develop and design all training and assessment around your industry’s national standards.

The Institute offers a wide range of TAFE PLUS commercial courses and customised training delivered in colleges, at the workplace and flexibly via the internet.

The Institute, through the Sydney West International Education Unit, is a leading edge provider of educational services to approximately 1,000 international students from around 35 countries.

TAFE NSW - Western Sydney Institute has services and facilities that are available to the general public. Our services enhance the learning of our students by providing valuable practical experiences.

Open for Service lists the services provided at our Colleges by our students as a practical component of study. These services are offered at a minimal cost and usually require a booking.

Facilities for Hire lists the range of facilities we have available for hire. These facilities may suit your workshop, conference, meeting or other activity.

Speciality Centres have a specific Industry focus. These centres are an extention of the training and qualification services we provide.
Qualifications certify what a person has achieved through study, training, work and life experience. Because Australian qualifications are nationally recognised, they are portable. Employers and training organisations throughout Australia understand what a particular qualification means, what you have learnt and what your skills are.
