The ARIA Awards recognise excellence and innovation across all genres of Australian music. On 2 March 1987, the inaugural ARIA Awards took place at Sydney's Sheraton Wentworth Hotel in front of 500 industry guests.

Twenty-one years later, the ARIAs are held in front of 3,000 industry guests, 6,000 members of the general public, and watched by a peak viewing audience of 1.5 million people via Network Ten's live broadcast.   More detail...
