Welcome to the internet home of GatorNet. An Amateur FTN/QWK network that got it's start back in the early 1990's. It started as a strictly QWK network and as it grew FTN was added to allow more boards to be able to join. Today GatorNet hosts 30 message bases, 5 InterBBS Leagues and has 26 BBSes on the network. Just exactly what is a network you may be asking yourself, well a network is a group of people each running compatible software who have connected thier computers together to exchange netmail and echomail and exchange files, for example InterBBS game packets.

Netmail is basically the same as your standard internet e-mail, except it's only exchanged with people in that particular network. Echomail is very similar to the newsgroups found on the internet, echomail is not private however, anyone reading that particular echo will be able to see what has been posted for as far back as the sysop of that particular BBS allows.

Some games played on the BBSes have a feature known as InterBBS play, where the BBSes on a particular network link thier games together allowing for competition between people and or BBSes far away from each other. League 75, League 618, League 57, League 69 and League 84 are hosted on the GatorNet network. Examples of the InterBBS games these leagues offer is LORDnet, BRE, FE, TAL and many more.
