The Business Management Training College - BMT College, is Southern Africa's most Prestigious Distance Education Business College, primarily focusing on teaching business management and related subjects in the Further Education and Training - FET - band.
BMT College in association with the Institute of Business Management - IBM, has been established since 1973 and is renowned for its service excellence over the past three decades. Tuition is by distance education only.

Home Studies allows the student flexibility to study anytime.
The Unit Standards based programmes guide the student in collecting all the required evidence to successfully complete the qualification.

The RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) assessment is done FREE OF CHARGE for BMT Students.

Historical Overview
Established for over 33 years, the Business Management Training College of Southern Africa (BMT College) has an impeccable reputation for excellence. The main objective and mission of the college is the training of competent mid-level managers and supervisors for government, commerce and industry. BMT College has successfully trained thousands of learners to date, many of whom are in senior government and private sector positions. Following is highlights of the College achievements during this period :

1973 - The Institute for Business Management was established by the founding member of the BMT Group, Mr. Charles H Stuart, to do management training for the smaller independent rural business community, for whom no training facilities were available at that time.
1978 - A state of the art training facility was established in Pretoria. It consisted of a mini supermarket complete with genuine stock, lecture halls and an auditorium with the latest in audio and film presentations. The Institute was later moved to Randburg.
1990 - Incorporation and registration of Business Management Training College of Southern Africa (BMT College). Mrs. B.A. van der Linde joins the College as Registrar.
1992 - First to admit disadvantaged learners on a large scale.
The 90's - Introduction of printed lectures with audiocassettes. This was followed by in-house produced video lectures.
1998 - Evaluation of the Diploma in Business Management - Dip.IBM® by the H.S.R.C. Certificate number 9601970/2/B.
2004 - Umalusi grant BMT College 3 years provisional accreditation - FET00013PA
2005/6 - BMT College adds Project Management and Business Administration to the list of Management Programmes.
2006 - BMT College's Provisional Accreditation with Umalusi is extended for three years after complying with various criteria, and recommended as a candidate for full accreditation.
2007 - Human Resources Management Programmes approval by SABPP - 541071018BM
2007 - Applied with Department of Education for Registration as a training provider.

Provisionally accredited by UMALUSI - Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training - FET 0013, as a Further Education and Training provider of distinction - currently the highest accreditation status available for FET Colleges.
