In 1991 Thomas Poller began to collect, out of his practice as gallerist and art dealer data and information on artists and the market of contemporary art. Collecting information on artists wasn't limited to the shows in as many galleries and museums in as many cities as possible. Many artists asked to show their work in portfolios which consist of a catalogue with images on their work and texts about the work and the biography.

Bringing together all this information only was possible with the help of many artists and exhibition places. The information on artists, galleries and museums grew month by month and became more and more interesting for artists and galleries as a source for research and contact.
