In the US the iPhone has been released without support for 3G / CDMA / UMTS. Rumors say that in Europe the iPhone will be released with UMTS support. This perfectly makes sense, since the multimedia functions will lead to a lot of over the air downloads and those can be really annoying if you don’t have a decent speed.

I would like to contract with BASE and that’s why I’m thinking about a new mobile phone with UMTS-support. The choice is not big. I don’t want to buy any subsidised cell phone, I will buy it myself and my budget is not really big.
